There were a total of 53 games scheduled to start after 6:00 PM during the 2016 spring training season, with those night games a little more common in Arizona (29) than they were in Florida (24). Average game attendance was easily better for the evening games played in Cactus League ballparks (9,834) than Grapefruit League ballparks (8,521).

The Yankees played more night home games (5) than any other team, while 70.8% of all spring training ballparks (17 of 24) were the scheduled site of at least one evening game (the one scheduled for Roger Dean Stadium was canceled due to weather). Ten of the 15 Grapefruit League teams hosted night games. In the Cactus League, 10 of 15 teams also hosted at least one night game, with the Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Mariners leading the way with four.

Overall, the Giants (8) played the most night games and the Peoria Sports Complex (7) was the site for more than any other ballpark. The Angels were the only team that trains in Arizona that didn't play at night at least once. Likewise, just one Florida-based team didn't play a single night game -- the Cardinals. Three night games (all in Florida) were rained out, so 50 of 53 games scheduled for after 6:00 were actually played.
